Calling out Rothfus on Russia

Progress PA was seen outside our Congressman’s office last Wednesday, asking for Mr. Rothfus to end his silence on the issue of coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia.  We would have gone inside to talk to his staff, but the office was locked up tight.   In order to communicate with our congressman on this vital issue, we had to tape notes to the locked door.

Keith Rothfus and House Republicans have abdicated their responsibility to protect our nation.  Join us this coming week on Wed. April 4 at noon, as we ask Mr. Rothfus to simply speak with his constituents face to face.  Finding our Congressman is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Last week, we witnessed the next chapter in Trump’s cover-up unfold.

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee ended their incomplete investigation into Putin’s attack on our democracy during the 2016 election, including illegal coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia. They’ve nixed leads, blocked witnesses, ignored U.S. intel, and dismissed key evidence. Now, they’re saying their work is done. “Nothing to see here,” they say, “No collusion!” Well, it’s easy to not find something when you haven’t looked for it.

Keith Rothfus and House Republicans have abdicated their responsibility to protect our nation. Join us at the wall on Wednesday, March 28 to let our Congressman know that we demand to know the truth.  And we demand that our Congressman end his long silence on this issue.  Tell Keith Rothfus:  The Congressional Cover-up of Trump-Russia must end now!

Where’s Rothfus Wednesday–March 8

March 8 is International Women’s Day, a day set aside to take stock of women’s progress toward gender parity.  Although International Women’s Day has been around since the time of the Sufragettes–1911 to be exact– it is unlikely to be a day that catches much attention from our Congressman, Keith Rothfus, who has been part of the GOP’s unofficial War on Women ever since he was elected.

The Rothfus voting record demonstrates a frontal assault on issues that matter most to women, like pay equity, paid sick leave and family leave, reproductive rights, and access to affordable healthcare and childcare.   Perhaps you missed the Congressman’s statement of support for the Women’s March in 2017 and again in 2018.  Oh wait… he said nothing.

With the World Economic Forum’s 2017 Global Gender Gap Report findings telling us that gender parity is over 200 years away – there has never been a more important time to #PressforProgress. And with global activism for women’s equality fueled by movements like #MeToo, #TimesUp and more – there is a strong global momentum to advance gender parity.

Where’s Rothfus? Wednesdays– We call BS

After yet another school shooting, a student, Emma Gonzalez, took her grief and turned it into political action.  In a moving speech that none of us will forget, Ms. Gonzalez said to the GOP and the NRA — we call BS.

We need laws to protect our kids.  We need laws to keep guns out of the hands of perpetrators of domestic violence and mental instability.  Deaths from gun violence in America is shocking, especially in comparison to other countries.  Enough is enough.

Keith Rothfus has not only received money from the NRA, but has been rated a A by the NRA for legislation he has sponsored.  He says he is for protecting children, but his actions, once again, tell a different story.

This Wednesday we stand with Ms. Gonzalez and every other person who has been touched by gun violence.

Where’s Rothfu$? Wednesdays: Let’s Protect our Dreamers

Unless you are of Native American descent or a descendant of someone who was brought to the US by force, you are here because someone in your family was an immigrant.

The Muslim Ban is an example of this administration’s xenophobic policy on immigration.  Looking at violence in the US from 9/12/01 to 12/31/16 there were 85 violent acts committed by extremists.  Of those attacks, the majority were by white supremacist groups and not Muslim groups.  Violence committed by terrorists in the US occurs more often by white supremacist groups.

Findings in a March 2017 study by the libertarian Cato Institute show natives are more likely to be criminals than illegal immigrants.  This boogeyman slithering his way over the border doesn’t exist.  Yes, there is some crime, but US citizens are more likely to commit this crime than illegal immigrants (1,2).

Immigrants, even illegal immigrants, do contribute to our economy.  See our YouTube video.

Rothfu$’s silence on this is deafening.  It took him 2 days to make a statement after Trump did not denounce the white supremacists in Charlottesville.  Rothfu$ has not denounced the WALL as a waste of money, racist, or unnecessary.  He has not come out to support DREAMERS.

We stand with DREAMERS.
